I am looking for an american guy who is over from San Francisco, California working on a dell implementation project of some sort. Although I hear there is 3000 people working for Dell I think if you know him he may stick out a little. He is I think about 6ft tall(ish!!), he is coloured, wears glasses & we joked that he looks like an american football or rugby player. My friends & I met him last night in the Texas Steakhouse in Limerick. We are having a BBQ this weekend & we joked about inviting him but then with all the fuss of food arriving/departing we forgot to give him any of our email addresses before he left. There was a german guy who is working on the same 'project' with him if that helps. So please ask around and see if you can find him for me!!??!!

Why? Have you seen some of the stuff on here?? We are just trying to be friendly to the guy... he knew there was a big match on but wondered where to watch it.. that's why we told him about our BBQ match evening... I'm intrigued as to why you think it's so strange.. aren't the irish known for being friendly?

Inviting a guy to a BBQ isn't all that strange, but posting here trying to find him is.

You're probably right if we thought about it the way you are.... but we just thought it was resourceful! Ah well... God loves a trier...but I take your point he hates a chancer!...

Am I going to be burned at the stake here or something for wanting to invite a guy to a BBQ to make him feel welcome in Limerick city on a rugby weekend!?!
In fact it is not "very un pc"... God you guys are pretty cruel.... we've decided to forget about it... must make a mental note not to assume that people are helpful in here anymore...

My problem is with the OP using the term coloured. It is offensive.

I have no prob with her trying to locate this american.

Irlrobins, etc STFU why don't ye?

    Siun,

If I was you I would ring Dell Service and Support on 1850 543543 and ask them for a number for their HR department. Once you get through, tell them your story. They wil not give you out any employee information, but leave them your contact info, and they *may* know this guy and be able to pass your contact info onto him.

If you have no joy with that phone number, try some of the numbers on this link =>http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/emea/contact/enie?c=ie&l=en&s=gen

or try Directory Enquiries for a number for
    Dell
    Cherrywood Science and Technology Park
    Cherrywood
    Cabinteely
    Co. Dublin
    Ireland.

It's a long shot. But good luck!!

We are all coloured. You, I guess, are a pinkish kinda colour. The guy she is looking for, is probably a bit darker. I'm colorured, a little bit browner than you probably. Your arguing for the sake of arguing. What exactly do you find offensive about the term? Grow up FFS.

Hobart & Blabla - tks so much... I felt I'd been backed into a corner, impaled on a stake & drenched with Jet A1 fuel waiting to be set alight so thanks for your help... phew... I'm not used to this attack first, think later mentality that robins obviously has...

Just to let you all know we've given up the search.... it's a little pointless when there are so many people there...

I know you've given up the search but what you are trying to do is very good for international relations and the reputation of Ireland as being good for the Craic.
    Heres a few tips.....
Since you met him in Limerick I would assume he is based in the Rahene plant for the duration of his stay, I think thats the only plant there now.
Might be worth calling reception there or even calling by some evening.....Long shot I know....
Also worth a shot may be posting something similiar to this in the Limerick City forum-you may have a better chance there.

Dear god, I'd expect this kind of crap of crap on Politics, but I never thought we'd be getting into these stupid PC arguments on the Computers forum...
