    I love this site!

And I can't believe I'm growing fond of Phil! One of us is growing older.

    http://www.billvsphil.com/

Great credit and savvy sense to take this with a pinch of good humour. He also said a sweet thing to an old player almost off mike during the last world series that was nice, along the lines that it wouldnt be the same without the old guys song. He died this week. Used to drive around in his own camper van - what on earth is his name?

excuse me - have to google.....

Puggy Pearson! Phil made him very welcome at the 2005 and asked him to sing his famous song. So, so long Puggy.

I feel this match up is pretty retarded. I identified with Paul Phillips' take on it
    Don't be a fool,
    stay in school,
fillmaff and hellmuth are facing off,
ultimatebet is where they both rebought,
WORD. Peace out. Play at UB.

On an aside I found the Puggy Pearson shtick at the WSOP cringe worthy. I feel that if he had known who Phil Helmuth was he would have punched him in the face.

lol, wasn't it Pearson who punched a dealer way back in the 70's?

I think it was Stu Ungar.

I find watching Helmuth play cash games is far more amusing...what a donkey.

Is this a form of acceptance of Helmuths own behaviour at the table? taking it with a pinch of salt could aslo be viewed as mocking yourself through someone who likes to mock you and laughing at it :)

I think filmaffs 1st two videos were amusing, never kept up after that

I wouldnt say punching dealers was a big deal back in the 60s&70s.

Maybe Stu Ungar did as well, but I'm sure (almost!) that Puggy Pearson was thrown out of Binions for punching a dealer.
