    Hi,
Does anyone know if there is any way to isolate sound from a certain program? So just say you were listening to an album on Winamp and wanted to run another program that had sound, instead of muting each individual program you open, you can just set it so the music from winamp is the only sound you could hear?

    Any feedback appreciated:)

I think you would need to turn off the sound on each application on a per application basis....
If you were playing a game and winamp you would turn of the sound on the ingame menu....
If you want to change the settings so that internet explorer or firefox do not play sounds then I think you can do that within the tools options menu.
So I dont think there is a way to explicitly isolate sounds from each individual application......

Is there anything in Particuliar you are wanting to do?

Just keep the music going without things like sound effects ruining it. I know I can get rid of individual sound effects but was just wondering was there an easier way:)

There may be an easier way, perhaps dependant on your sound card....
Sure we'll see if anyone has any further ideas.

A good first stop would be Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Sounds tab and select the No sounds option.

This turns off system sounds but leaves Media type sounds unaffected.
