Anyone out there got a few strands of grey showing up in the hair?

I'm 24 and have two grey hairs on the left side of my head, hidden amongst the rest. I'm wondering what are the ages that others out there have gone from coloured to grey... a few grey hairs vs full blow grey headed/

i keep my hair pretty tightly shaven but i started showing the grey about 23/24. I have a fair bit now at 28 but its still just at the sides with a few white hairs in my beard.

Because of using names like jizzler

The best indicator is from your nearest male relatives, Dad, Uncles, older brothers etc. Not arbitrary people on the boards. Cos it doesn't take into account receeded hairline / male pattern baldness either.

I had the odd grey hair around 28, and now have about 5 - 10% grey at 33 years old. Noticeable... but still full head of black(ish) hair.

It depends on who you are. A friend of mine was mostly grey by 25 and other friends well into their 30s barely had any greys. You can get low lights to cover it up if need be. Just hope your hair doesn't change as in many cases the hair changes texture drastically too. One friends' hair suddenly becasme kind of curly as it changed too

My 18 year old friend has noticable grey hairs, my 23 year old cousin nearly has half grey and half jet black hair. It all depends

Started getting a few grey hairs when I was 17. Am 25 now and there's a few more but when it's short and there's wax in it you can't really see it that much (at least that's what I tell myself anyway). It's only at my temples anway.

Dunno about the whole male relatives thing. My Dad didn't go grey til he was 40.

started getting afew in early twenties - now at 27 have a good few - but shows up mostly when my hair is longer.

I have a cousin who was totally grey by the time he was 20!

I have no problem with my grey hairs btw!

Had the first few grey hairs appear in my mid teens, but now at twice that age they are only slightly more noticeable. The lack of hair on top is fairly significant now though.

My father was full blown grey at the age of 22, I'm 23 and I've a few popping up now. You can only notice it if I let the hair grow long.

I had 2 long coarse grey hairs when I was about 15:eek:
I pulled them out, they came back, I pulled them out again & I've haven't had anymore since.

Lets hope it stays that way for some time to come.
Incidently, my bf's 25 & has quite a few & has had them for a good while now.
(Has light coloured hair though, so not noticeable.)
A friend, when at college was 21, & I'd say 40% for his hair was grey.

    Different for everyone

Im 20 with a lot of grey hairs on the sides of my head, dosn't bother me though cause I tell my self I look 'distinguished'!

Would anyone here with grey hair go down the 'just for men' route?

I'm 26, got my first grey hair at 17. Have a loads now. Stands out more when my hair is long. Don't really care about it as long as I don't go bald for a few more years

Noticed that I was going grey at 16, loads now at 27, even starting to show up when I grow facial hair a bit. Again, if you have gel in it it's not really noticeable. Doesn't bother me anyway. Although this whole distinguished, George Clooney type thing that people say you get when you're going grey is bull if you ask me!! Would never dye it or do any sort of lowlights that Morning Star mentioned, think it makes you look ridiculous. Know a guy who did dye his hair and the girls in work used to talk about it and not in a good way.

I'm 25, have a few grey hairs in my eyebrows but that's the only place I've noticed them. Though, I've kinda sandy hair so they wouldn't be overly noticeable anyway...

Very true. But my female friends call it the george clooney look when they describe it as distinguished! Wouldn't believe them for a second about it

I did, a good few years ago, for the craic. Unfortunately for me I'm allergic to hairdressing chemicals and my entire scalp and forehead bubbled and became an open wound! For a couple of weeks I looked like I'd been dipped in acid.

I'm much more resigned now to allowing nature to take its course.

I'd happily go grey now if it meant I'd never lose my hair

Speaking of incidents involving hairdye I knew a guy years ago who tried to dye his hair red, the stuff got all over his forhead and face and dyed his skin an interesting shade of red, took ages to wear off! much slagging and hilarity ensued!:D

I've been getting grey hairs since I was 17. I'm nearly 28 now and they've increased, but very slowly. Thankfully I just love colouring my hair. My mum started getting them when she was 17 too. It's genetic in my case. I suppose age (although what age?) and stress cause it in other cases. Don't get depressed. There's not a whole lot you can do about it. Just use dye (although I know not all guys like doing that. Plus Just For Men and Grecian 2000 are uber-naff and usually only used by dads). Be grateful that it's not something worse.
If it's any consolation, I, along with many other females find young guys with partially grey hair very sexy indeed!

Spotted my first grey hair when I was 23 but it was in my mid to late 30's that they became more noticable and I had to intervene. Now at 41 when my roots are showing I'm fairly grey around the hairline but not so much on the crown. Thank God for dye.
