delay when opening "edit guide"

    as per tile,

    when i go to settings to "edit guide",
    see the other thread on bi-weekly guide thrashing,

    it takes roughyl 5 minutes to open the edit guide and get at the channels.

    doesnt bother me too much as i usually go to the shop while its opening,
    but i doubt it should take so long,
    anyone got any ideas?
