Pics of Sky channels on non-Sky box

Got the loan of a Sky card recently and was testing it with a Dragon cam to see how it worked on an Echostar PVR. Non-premium and FTV channels worked straight away, but the movie channels also required the serial number of the digibox to be programmed into the cam. Non-premium channels are displayed immediately but there's a small lag for the premium ones.

No problems either recording off of Sky movies onto hard drive.

Apologies for the crappy image quality, but I still haven't figured out the proper camera settings for taking pictures from a TV or monitor - any suggestions?

Can two of these dragon cams be used at the same time in the one box, so you could have a sky subscription card and a FTV card in the one box?

i don't know of any box that would take two dragons....

the only think to watch with the cam is the keep-alive signal from sky does not get though... so it will need to spend some time every month in your digibox...

The type of Dragon cam I have is a T-Rex twin cam that can take a second sim. It's inserted as per a mobile phone.

The card I was testing was a UK sub so that has C4 already. If I can borrow an Irish sub card in a few weeks time and butcher a FTV card, I'll see how it goes.

Does the card stop working in a few days to a week untill returned to the Sky Digibox?

Or has the card updating been solved?

    It stops working.

Unfortunately, the auto updating of Sky cards in dragon cams is still not possible.

I am interested to know if this can work with Sky HD and a non-Sky HD box.

If it wasn't for the autoupdating issue of the viewing cared, that would be a great setup!

So say you have this system running, would it work on autoupdate if say you put the card back into the skybox when you are at work or when you go to bed?

From what I've read on other forums, typically a sub card needs to be updated every 4 weeks or so in a digibox, although some users are reporting that lately the cards are staying alive for up to 8 weeks.

Unlike the Dragon cam, Dreamboxes will update a card.

I was also messing with a Smartmouse, RitzDVB and a FTV card and managed to get C4 displaying on a PC. The display was interrupted every 30 secs in sync with activity on smartmouse as it read keys from the card. I need to fiddle with settings to get it running more smoothly and I'll post a few pics.

I noticed that the smartmouse software has an update feature to keep the cards alive although it comes with a big 'use at your own risk' warning.

However any of this could stop working tomorrow, so you DO need a Sky digibox for any Sky subscription.

Any hint of any suggestion of anything illegal and the thread vanishes ...

Tested out a FTV card in the sim slot of the Dragon CAM and it doesn't recognise it. It looks as though it will only work with certain Irdeto based sims/cards.

    .

Twin common interface is pretty much standard in all boxes.
why wouldn't two dragons work ?

Tested the time taken for a FTV card to deactivate. Lasted from 2nd June in Dragon CAM to 3rd August - just over 2 months.
