I went to both prereleases. 51 showed up at the royal dublin on saturday. besides a hex my card pool was pretty weak (bronze bombshell all the way), and i ended up going 4-2 on the day (should have been 5-1 but my 3rd round opponent topdecked a golgari rotwurm to sac for exact damage when i had one turn left to win). came 12th. The highlight of the day was my use on two seperate occasions on two different opponents of Lurking Informant to rip Simic Sky Swallower off the top of their decks. On sunday, twenty-something showed up in tallaght. this time i got a stronger card pool (and two dual lands), as well as another hex and another bronze bombshell. This time i went unbeaten for the first four rounds, then drew the last against Dara Butler (who had drawn a match earlier) so i ended up the victor, winning 8 boosters and a snazzy t-shirt. After that, there was a 2hg prerelease, so myself and Sionnach entered. unfortunately it was cut short after two rounds, and after a tight loss in the second against Antoinette Mason and Brian Kidney, we didnt manage to get prizes.

As a set, dissension is beautiful. Simic and Rakdos are both REALLY strong. I'm not sold on azorius just yet, as it has neither the creature versatility of Simic or the amazing removal of Rakdos. Also, leaf drake roost is one of the best limited cards ever, in game 1 of my last round on sunday, my opponent got out simic ragworm with occular halo, but just couldnt outrace my roost. hurrah!
