Volunteering abroad

    I really want to do some volunteer work abroad and perhaps pursue it as a career. The one thing i've seen with most volunteering is that you have to pay lots of money to do it. I don't like the idea of paying lots of money to a business to work with a charity. Are there any organisations that you don't have to pay a fortune through and just go there, do the work and get your accomodation. Perhaps like helping building schools or seomthing.
    Any other alternatives advice?

    Try Concern or Goal or something, they are always looking for people. I think you would have need a college degree though Im not sure, its a start.

    I was looking at this recently. Volunteer services international didnt seem like a place are just there to take you money. Their Irish website doesnt really seem to be working at the moment but they are based around Mountjoy Square in Dublin. They do all lengths of stays abroad. How long are you looking to go?

    Also try skillshare.org/ireland for longer stays and volunteeringireland.ie for a bucket load of links.
