hey ppl, im new here, in fact, i dont even speak english very well, but i need some help...=/ thats my problem: since i was little, my dream was to be an archaeologist, wich is ok, buuuuut when i was researching archaeology colleges at google i found out that here in my country (Brazil) there arent no colleges teaching it! only one, that is placed in the poorest brazilian state =P besides, the brazilian archaeology course is directed (is this word right?) only to pre-history (boring....) so, i was thinking in study abroad. my first options were U.S.A and U.K but they are too expensive for me =( then I started to think in mexico or peru...what do u pple think that i should do? Im still in high school, so i have 2 years to think about it! i dont wanna give up of this career, i feel like i was born to it!

Ireland would probably be as expensive as U.K. Mexico I'd imagine would have some excellent courses as they have such archaeological wealth, plus it would be in spanish which I'd imagine would be easier for a portuguese speaker to follow than would english. pre-history is fascinating by the way!

whatever you choose, if you feel you are born to it, then definitely do it, and best of luck!:)

There are excellent courses in the Institute of Technology of Northern Portugal. There is a lot of prehistoric stuff to learn, but as you progress you can specialise in the historic and contemporary archaeology!! If you do a google search for ' Instituto Politecnico de Tomar ' you should get the information you need. And the cost of living in Portugal is lower than Ireland

The town of Tomar is beautiful too!! There is a 13th century Templar castle there!!
