Sky + remote not working on system

    Hi,

    Wondering if anyone has some words of wisdom please. My Sky + remote is not working on my Sky + system. However the Sky+ remote will work on my other Sky system in the house. There is no obstruction in the way and the box has been restarted cold. Batteries on the remote are brand new. Apart from that the system works fine.

    Any ideas?

    every now and then my remote stops working, even with new batteries in it. all i do is remove the batteries and put them back in, maybe switch them around. generally helps.

    Something similar to the following should work...

    To reprogram the sky remote to control the sky+ box.

    The sequence is:

    TV
    Blue+select led flash twice
    2
    Select
    Sky
    Now the sky remote up and down channel buttons change the channels on a sky+ box.

    To revert back, enter this sequence again but press the zero button instead of "2".

    Hi, thanks for that.

    Seems to work to some degree - I can control the Sky + but I can’t use all of the buttons on the remote control. For instance I can scroll up\down the channels and go into the TV guide but can’t use any of the color buttons (red\green etc) select button isn’t working either – so if I want to watch a recorded show I can’t.

    I think, and I could be wrong here my Sky + remote control doesn’t know it is to control a Sky + device. Just found out the kids were at the remote control today which may have something to do with it.

    Any more ideas?

    Played around with a little bit more and figured it out - for those who have same problem this is what I did:

    TV
    Blue+select led flash twice
    1
    Select
    Sky

    Thanks to ShaneOC for pointing me a big way (99%) in the right direction.

    How did Sky not know how to fix it? My wife was on to them earlier on in the day and there solution was to send an engineer at €100.
