    Hiya,

Installed Fedora a few days ago - really like the look of it sofar - but i cant get internet access on it - i am new to linux so not sure where to look. Tried a few things in ifconfig - but no joy.

Is there any tool that i can download that will scan my settings and tell me what is wrong?

    Cheers,

    K

    Post the following :

    1) the output of ifconfig
    2) the output of route -n
    3) Your router's IP Address

    Regards,

    Liam

PS. I'm assuming you're on broadband on not on dial-up, right?

Check out how the network interface is setup using Fedora/Redhat's network gui, ye can get to it by typing following command in terminal:
    system-config-network&

Ideally you should be able to see you NIC and check wether it's on DHCP etc. Restarting networking afterwards should help as well, as if there's any problems with the NIC ye get an error message.
    /etc/init.d/network restart

I tried a reinstall before getting into everything again - and the network works fine this time!

    Thanks for the help guys,
