I was playing last night heads-up and I would raise with K-9 or something along those lines. The he would always over-the-top re-raise, ( I would raise 60,000 he would re-reraise over 200,000 ), and stacks have around 600,000 each, blinds 20,000 and 40,000. He did that plenty of times and I always folded well 80% of the time. I'm not sure how to play a person like that and how to get the most chips out of him and without risking a large amount of mine for example.

Also, in three-handed games, if you have AA, AQ, KQ( Most underrated hand), AJ, what should you do. I always thought you should raise 3x big blind, but should you flat call at any situation and how would you normally play that hand?
Is there any really common tells that people always make. I find one is when people look at their cards and immediatly stare at their chip stake for a split second, they would normally raise and I would fold, however is there any more common ones?

One last thing I would like to understand fully is the concept of pot odds/implied odds and all other odds. I realise that sites have plenty of information on this however I would like to know at what situation you use the different types of odds and what information to take into account before you make that decision.

This sounds to me like an outline for a months worth of boards.ie research.

What I mean is, there's too many questions and concepts there to answer or discuss easily. Pick a topic, post a question on it and people will discuss. Otherwise most people are reading your post wondering where to begin.

Also, it's much easier to discuss these topics when there is a very specific hand or situation on which to base the discussions around.

(As for heads up against an aggressive reraiser... I'd pick my moment and rereraise all-in if you think he's just stealing the pots back)

Well, could someone answer question3 about the odds, I think it will greatly improve my game to know this inside out. Thank you. Try not to link to other sites, it's what you've noticed that I want to hear?

Also, anyone get Mike Caros Book of Tells, any good?

Buy Harrington's books for good tournament advice, including pot odds.

I have Caros book, and whilst it is worth a read, you can spend your money on better books. (Do a search for books for recommendations)

Pot odds = price being laid to you to see the next card or on occasion the next two cards (if there will be no more betting if you make the call).

Eg. Pot is 1000 after the flop and you are headsup. Your opponent bets 500. The pot is laying you 3/1 odds to see the next card. i.e. you are risking 500 to win a 2000 pot.

Implied odds = pot odds plus how much you think your opponent will bet or call if you hit one of your outs.

Eg. You think your opponent has made a flush and you have two pair on the turn. The pot is 2000 and your opponent decides to bet 200 to value bet his hand. Your pot odds are 11/1 making this a marginal call for 200 more chips but you are 80% certain that your opponent will bet or call an all-in for your 2000 more chips left behind even where the board has paired giving you a house. Thus your implied odds are you are risking 200 chips to win 2400 +0.8 *4000 = 5600 or implied odds of 27/1 making it an easy call (in the long run, tournament survival strategies or BR considerations not withstanding blah blah blah)

Serach the forum for Mike Caro book of tells - its been discussed to death. There is a search function on the top right.

flat call his bets, it will worry him because he will think you are trying to squeeze him. reraise all in on the river. this should put manners on him. Any pair should take down most pots heads up.
