Where can I find the cheapest cans going, say a crate or two?

Taste is not a factor, only price is. Something passed its 'best before' date for example would be ideal...

or if you'd want a bit of taste (joking of course some aldi/lidl beers can be alright)

dunnes were - don't know if they still are - 24 bottles of miller for €22.99

but he said taste didn't matter!

OP: do we want to know what its for? are we invited to a party?

tbh he did say that, but like what's the point of buying something to drink if you ain't going to enjoy it.

unless he's not planning to drink it.

past its best before date.... sounds like an experiment :D
I think the cheapest is actually Tesco.. they have their own brand piss which makes Dutch Gold taste like premium stuff .

    Its VERY cheap too!!!

The situation (to clear it up!) is that people keeping headin back to mine on Saturday nights after wherever for a session.. now no problems there. Only thing though is that I'm sick of the ****ers drinking all my GOOD beer and vodka... soooo, I've decided I'll grab some of the scouldiest whatever that I can find and hey if they want drink on the house then that'll be there for the taking...

Anyway - Niceone for the tips lads, I'll try Fairyhouse market so at the weekend, failing that.. O'Briens it is.

    cheers

"best before" means just that, "use by" is the one to watch for, usually on meat products.

Stuff does not suddenly go rancid and toxic 1 hour after the "best before" is reached. They calculate the time using worst case scenarios, i.e. if this beer is stored at 30C in a bottle in direct sunlight then it will not taste its best in 12 months time. If it is stored in the dark at 4C it will take far longer to reach that same level of "badness"

Lidl (In england anyway, don't know if they have it in Ireland) have some really cheap, surprisingly nice German beer. Here, it's 24 250ml stubbies for £7 or so.

He wants the mouldiest beer at the cheapest price basically.

I don't think he wants surprisingly nice anything.

I've never tasted it but sounds foul:

Tesco Dutch Export Lager 12x500ml Cans

    €8.99

I'm off to Tesco - is this stuff nice or is just fit for baiting slugs?

Its not to bad but the reason its so cheap is the the alcohol % is very low

That last few times I've been to Lidl I've bought Bass. I drink Smithwicks so it's exactly the same... at 69 cent a can you can't go wrong. 10 cans for under €7 and it's Berties favourite brew.
