NTL Digital Installation

    Hi guys,
I'm seriously considing getting the NTL basic digital package. I have the basic analogue package atm.

Can you just confirm to me a few things for me first, before I go ringing them:

    1) The engineer that arrives to install it won't care about the fact I've got the analogue split into 4 rooms.
    2) I'll still be able to get the basic 17 channels in the three rooms that I don't have the digital box in.
    3) Sky One will appear in 16:9, so that currently what I see as re-runs of "targat", starring "chard dean anders", I'll actually see as "Stargate", starring "Richard Dean Anderson" :)

I'm also guessing that when analogue goes dead (in a few years' time), I will need extra boxes for each room I want to continue to have digital in.

    Thanks!

Correct, the digital feed will just be on the 'main line in' and you'll get analogue tv and radio on the other 3 rooms. Sky One will indeed be 16:9 as and when NTL can be arsed to keep technical standard tight!

Thanks for the quick reply...I have one further question, relating to the feed...

Is there a new cable required to bring the digital signal down to the room I want it in, or does the signal get split 4 ways, but only the room with the decoder box makes use out of it?

/bows to the more knowledgeable folks here

Yes. The digital box ought to work on any outlet really.
