Just wondering about this. it seems to me that teachers have different opinions of how much to write fior eg . english essay at least 2 A4 pages which is around 3 exam booklet pages. Some say less some say more.Just for curiosity how much do ye write for say poetry higher level. I write around 2 and a half pages on average. Also Irish essay and litir how much do ye write.

Is an exam booklet page not the same as an A4 page? I treated it the same... I mean, the spacing is bigger but there are no margins on exam booklet pages.

But yes, I'd say about a page per 20 marks. So a poetry question, that's like... 30 marks isn't it? Write.. ah, write two pages to be safe. I wrote about 2 pages for them all in mine if I recall.

For Irish, Litir is.. two pages, a little less. I mean, you've got all the addresses and stuff taking up space, along with your introduction and closing paragraphs which tend to always be the same, so you've only got to write about a page of original stuff.
Essay... about one and a half pages, I think.

With English you should kinda know when you've written enough. Just make sure you got the message across.

But anyway, the page per 20 marks in a pretty good guide. That's about what I do...
