Good Man Jimmy. I'm going too! :)

While the price of Dun Doire seems like bad value in such a large field, I just can't rule him out. I was hoping for 4 or 5 to one, but it looks like he may go off around 7/2. I took him on betfair at 5.2. I also may back No half session each way, and perhaps Our Ben each way (although he is carrying a lot of weight)

    Enjoy the day!

    He's 6.6 on Betfair now!
The ground you see is against him, or so they say... might become a very tempting price!

I'm thinking Far From Trouble. Goes on good, good Chelt performance at 4miles, top jnokecy on board, performed reasonably in 4th on first time over fences at Fairyhouse. And a nice 10-10 weight. He carried 11-11 when close third in Chelt, so he should fly.

looking at him,a class horse but no value, going for Coljon e/w(second to dun doire already at Gowran this year and hoping he might turn the tide!)
also going for Monterey Bay seems he doesnt mind who is riding him as rarely out of the placings, distance a slight worry though!
    at the moment
    Coljon @ 48/1
    monterey bay @ 13/1

coljon? he 20-1 in powers...what would you say he'll go out at?

Another one I like the look of is Black Apalachi...
Ran into 6th in a 3m1f race at chelt on good when carrying 10-13. Was hampered badly in that race near the start. Comments from RP "Black Apalachi never got in a blow after being carried back in a chain reaction after the first, but he stayed on for a respectable sixth, ahead of top-weight Iris Bleu, who was a sufferer in the same incident, which was evidently triggered when Florida Dream drifted left into the bend passing the stands."
In that race Liberthine came in 8th and went on to win in Aintree.

Black Apalachi is weighted 10-8 today, 14/1 on PP, but 16-1 if shop around. C O dwyer on board. He got 3m4f in heavy in the Cork GN in Nov.

But then why not go for the winner in that race, A New Story ?

had some great runs... weight good. Reading the reviews his trainer sounds up beat at this chances and the amature jockey on him was the same one that got him the second place against dun doire. Now in saying that he misfired in the last race and finished well down but prob driver error.

its a well tasty e/w punt. I will be lumping onto him today.

The stand out Dark Horse in the race is American Jennie....currently widely available at 33-1. This is her frst handicap but she's an improver and in a race like this you've always gottta be thinking about value. I agree that coljon is a decent alternative as well.

Yea was looking at American Jennie too. Was tipped yesterday on the track which was shown on RTE. Healthy price too. Only really avail. at 25's now by the by...

14.05 Mac three 16.5(all betfair prices to win)
    14.35 Qudraat 16
    15.10 Glacial Moss 18
    15.50 Monterey Bay 19.5 & Coljon 38(e/w)
    16.30 Sorry Al 22
    17.40 Dans Dealer 20
    would be a nice accum,
    only draw back to betfair!

    No way pal :)
Going to be a fav's day.
Can't oppose Tiger Cry (2.35), and doubtfully wise to oppose Oodachee (3.10). Stoneville is a NR in the 1st... haven't looked into it much yet, Mac Three has come in for a fair bit of support, so that's worth looking in to...

That will explain the cut in price alright. Who tipped it on RTE do ya know?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,807 ✭✭✭chump

Twas only one of the on-course bookies. The regular one they interview, he tipped American Jenny and Coolnahilla as lively EW bets. And then the RTE lad made positive enough remarks for American Jenny.

Far From Trouble's price is coming in from 7's so I took some while I could. A real chance in the big un.

And despite BoS's poor performance of late and his aversion to good-ish ground, if he half performs surely he can win over hurdles?

My Dad just can`t see past this horse, so I`ll go with experience and have an e/w on it. Also have to have a e/w on Coljon because a mate I work with said its being laid out for this and thats coming straight from the yard.

haha fu**in great day for me. I just got back from fairyhouse a minute ago. I had Lakil Princess, Publican and hasanpour. But i'm gonna kill myself as I only placed Hasanpour(gr8 ride from Loughran) I had King Johns Castle nd Oulart E/W aswell. It was a very disappointing day 4 Ruby again and he never gave Major Vernon a good ride.
Hope every1 else did aswelll as me.
    cheers;)
