    Hello,

May be building a house between 1500 and 2000 sq ft in size.Just wondering is there a way of calculating per sq foot how much it may cost to build?

I know it depends on the amount of time and type of materials, has anyone here built a house this size that may have tips?

Just want some ballpark figures before I talk to builder,

    Cheers

Hiya Paddy, general guidelines would suggest build cost of somewhere between €80 to €120 per sqFt depending on specification. Just make sure you send out lots of quotations and go through each of them with a fine tooth comb to be sure of what is included and what is not included.

Can i suggest Century Homes or some of the scandinavian pine homes.. you will get a huge house thats unique in design.. well for the area.. probably another somewhere... and best of all they are cheaper to heat etc. Also a LOT quicker to put up!

€80 self build(ish) ..you manage the second fixes as a minimum and get a builder to put the structure in first fixes and plaster it and handover

€120 all built for you and high quality fittings all around.

€80 min means €160k to build a 2000 square foot house.

Hi, I saw prices listed as 80 euro per sq ft, but does that include your plumbing and heating costs? I am building a 2,900 sq ft house and just got quotes for approx 50,000 euro for underfloor heating, heat pump, solar panels and plumbing for the house, seems extreme! Price quoted for building the actual house, right down to the kerbing and lawn seeded is 243,500, does this seem reasonable? Definately cant afford to do that particular heating system on top of that.
