Been using 3v since they came out and never had any problems! they are after all visa cards so theres no reason they should not be excepted.

motor tax office .I was thinking maybe I had to purchase something rather than paying a bill and, that's why it was refused.

I tried to add money to my paddypower online account before with one of them and it wouldnt go through. I emailed paddypower support and they said they dont accept them due to the fact their's no age verification and so a minor could get a 3v card and add money to the account. Could be something like that which is the problem, (funnily ladbrokes let you add money with paypal). Also moneybookers.com wouldnt accept it when i was buying something off ebay.

from the merchants point of view you are just another person with a Visa, how can they tell you only have a 3V visa? ahhh it must be because the 3V, not being a physical card, doesn't have that three digit verification number that is on the signature panel of real cards?

Yes it does. You are texted or emailed the 3 digit number.

They can be identified by the retailer by the first 6 digits.

All 3V Voucher numbers are the same apart from the last four or five digits.

Some sites wont accept them as some sites require bank information to be supplied (ie where the credit card is registered to - what bank, address, etc).

The only problem Ive had with them is, you cannot register XBOX live with them.

I just found a potential alternative to 3V.

Well there are many such as Visa Buxx but they need a US address, but there is one called the American Express Travel Card, don't mind the name its supposed to be a replacement for travellers cheques but in practical terms it looks like a rechargeable/replaceable card with an AMEX number. I don't need one myself so didn't dig further but maybe someone here who doesn't like 3V might look into it.

The problem with gambling sites is that there is no way to put your winnings onto a payg account.

Thats not the issue. Merchants can add back funds. Its to do with the age verification problems that gambling sites don't take them.

So does anyone know if there is actually a way to accumulate credit and spend it all in one go?

3V is a prepaid product and it is paypals/ebays policy not to accept prepaid products. However I think this is something tthat they have to verify individually so they may let some slip through. The product is also blocked from all gambling sites. It is up to individual retailers to decide if they will let you use multiple vouchers to buy one thing. It is the same as using funds from different credit cards when you are near your limit on each. Most retailers will let you do this but it will obviously have to be done over the phone. You should have no problem doing this with the likes of DEll etc.
