The 1.6 Focus came with timing chain or belt?
    How about the 1.4 engine?

I'd guess they all have belts...

If its a zetec you don't have to change the belt for 100k or so I've been told by my main dealer.

1.4 Focus has a belt that has a scheduled replacement interval of 100,000 miles/160,000kms - AFAIK.

In which production year came with the Zetec engines?
What is the belt cahnge interval for non-Zetecs (Duratec?)?

All the foci are 100k I think, although garages seem to recommend 80k.

The petrols are called Duratec, and the Diesels are Endura-Di or Duratorq I think.

The Zetec engines are in the MK1 + Mk2 mondeos, and the Fiestas.

So let's say 80k (to be on the safe side).
But what does the practice say?All the tensioners, waterpump, belt can withstand the 80k?

There was someone on here a while back saying Ford honour the 100k mile interval for belt change and will repair any engine damage if it goes before that.
But would you really want that hassle.....

Pretty sure they're all chains. The 100K figure is correct.

All petrol engines from the MkI Focus were carried over to the new model afaik except the 1.6 Ghia which is a new engine with variable valve timing.
