Surfing waterford?

Hey, Is waterford any good for surfing? Heard tramore is mingin dirty and don't want to drive to west cork. Interested only in beach breaks - too wimpy for reefs if there are any :p . Guessing a swell is very hit and miss as well? Also any decent surf clubs? Ta :)
