Network Hard Disk

Hiya

I have a few external hard disks (usb / fwire) some are proper external disks and some are enclosures which I have thrown old hard disks in.

I am looking for a decent external disk that I can dump media onto (eg mp3 / video) but then just connect standalone to a router so that the data is available on the network?

Hope this makes sense? I know www.121cdr.co.uk were doing some enclosures that you could put direct into a router but they seem to have vanished?

Essentially what you are looking for is NAS ( Network attached Storage ) devices ,

Only thing is , the only ones Ive found so far are pretty steep in price. It would seem that most of em are designed for business use ,

This will work on its own , has its own remote and all , but if attached to a PC or a router , could possible have all its contents accessible on the network?
