MSN Messenger webcam and NAT fun

Searched for this (here and Google), came up with nothing of use...
I can use MSN Messenger 7.5 (build 7.5.0324, with XP & SP2) for chat no problem, but any time I click "accept" for a webcam video conversation, it crashes the program and stops responding (messenger process ends when I close the window), and I have to restart it.
The webcam panels appear and I can see myself move around before the other person accepts, and I can see my webcam working in the Webcam settings.

I'm guessing it's because of this:

Now, I'd free up a port for MSN specifically in my router config, but it only lets you put in Start Port, End Port and IP address, nothing about allowing specific programs (my firewall is the same)

I've also turned off a few non vital XP services and am wondering if any of them are required for it?
    Thanks.

I've never had any problems viewing cams, I think the issue is something to do messenger using dynamic ports it still shouldn't effect you viewing others cams it should only effect them seeing yours, this was many years ago things might of changed.

I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling MSN. It shouldn't crash due to webcam not working. If I try and run webcam to someone who is behind firewall it will eventually timeout and say it can't connection.

So uninstall, restart and then reinstall and see if that helps.
