Just wondering if people click on sigs to bring them to other websites, and if you do then what is that attracts you to do it?

(i have a link in my sig to a site i'm involved with but i have disabled it for this post just in case someone thinks i'm fishing for clicks)

If something in a sig interests me, I'll click it to see what its like. Many things don't, however.

Sometimes, if it seems intereting. My links are just for shortcuts for me, heh.

    No.
In fact, I dont like sigs at all, especially those that are as big as the posts...

If it stands out and look interesting I might, mostly tho I don't even look at the sigs twice. I disregard busy sigs/userbars altogether.

    Turn them off.

    nice one Tar :)
Didnt know you could do that.

I click them if they catch my eye. For some reason RopeDrink's sig stands out in my mind for clickys.

Or if it's in the sig of somebody I know well on boards.

i actually clicked yours only a few days ago. Beo.ie, i went to an all Irish primary/secondary school so it caught my eye.

I myself click on those which interest me as well. I'd take a look at bebo / myspace / blog links for people who i would recoginise on boards all the time.

I actually asked this question because the statistic package that I have on my webhost shows a lot of click thrus coming from boards.ie. People must like my sig!

I read peoples blogs sometimes if I know the user or software they have in their sigs to try out.

one think i dont like is those "user/watcher/fan" sigs that people have as in
    nokia user
    playstation fan
    lost watcher

    how lame are they?

Sometimes...unless they're blogs/myspace/bebo or are labelled along the lines of Check out this cool thing!! or similar...

I got fed up and turned sigs off recently, though I still have mine left on. I still always check a link to make sure it isn't something dodgy anyway.

    Oh and i'm a 'user';)
