Is it possible to watch a film through the PC on the TV screen. I heard that you need S video but I do not have that on my machine. Can this be added?

    Thanks

By machine you mean your PC?
    To do this you need:
A Video card with Tv-Out (just about all of them these days have it).
A TV with a compatible input.

The most common interface is Svideo but there is usually an adaptor for Composite supplied with the card (Lower quality but watchable). Higher end cards also include adapters for component. It all depends on what inputs your TV will accept. Here are the cable/interface types listed in order of quality and consequently in reverse order of availability (ie. the higher you go up the quality ladder the less likely your equipment supports it).
DVI/HDMI (If you have an Uber TV :) )
    Component/HD
    S-Video
    Composite.

    Hi,

You didn't mention your audio for the dvd, S-video does not include the audio.

You can get an audio cable with the headphone 3.5mm jack on one end and then phono (red and white) connections on the other end.
Where you plug the S-Video or Composite(yellow) into your tv there should be the red and white connections.

Plug out the PC speakers plug the cable in and enjoy audio coming from the tv.
