From a story found here: http://www.breakingnews.ie/2006/04/14/story254177.html
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a work accident in Roscommon.

He fell from a hoist while working on the town's Main Street at about 11am today.

Eye-witnesses said he fell from a great height.

The man was rushed to Roscommon General Hospital and gardaí are investigating the incident.

It's awful what has happend to the guy and all of that. But seriously, "Eye-witnesses said he fell from a great height." I feel ashamed.

cant remeber if that one aslo fell in as well. i suspect it did.

    was very funny.

    bit irish eh

I was laughing at the trucks falling in the water dear.

I imagine the OP is talking about the great height sentence being a very Irish thing to say or something.

    QFE.

I fail to see any humour, bad grammar or anything else "Irish" about the news story.

The trucks in the dock thing is old, but still funny...
