my sister has one, pretty rubbish imo. :D no optical zoom means it basically has no zoom whatsoever.

the lcd looks small, even though it's probably average. i like a big shiny lcd. size wise it's decent, pretty small and girly- fits in the handbag.

tis a good deal though, dunno wat she paid for hers but i know it was more than that! tink it was round €270. such a waste.

Its a good price but is gona cost over €200 once you factor in the delivery charges etc....If it were my money I'd go for the newer CANON Digital Ixus i zoom for a few quid more....and it comes with 2.4 optical zoom

I have one of these. It's a fantastic camera. I got it about a year ago for £250 or so. It comes with only 32MB card, but I updated to 512MB and take pics at the highest size. This means the lack of optical zoom isn't the end of the world.

The fact that I can just pop it in my pocket and take pretty excellent quality photos wherever makes it a great buy.

That said, the new ones look deeeeelicious, and have optical zoom. Hmmmm.

on what grounds is optical zoom important, what a unfounded statement. this is a p and s camera, aimed not at landscape but from its colours and style clearly at the sociable scene, ie nights out etc. optical zoom is prettyy much a waste then. the picture quality on it is amazing i can post some that imo are better than some i take with my dslr, very rich colours and amazing clarity

theres nothing worse than a picture taken on a phone camera that has been zoomed in to the max. same thing with a digital camera only there's more pixels.

digital zoom on anything less than a 6mp camera ain't good enough imo, even for the average user. of course you'll want to zoom in at some stage, eg when taking a pic of a plane.

i can tell you now i'd much rather my casio exilim 6mp with 3x optical zoom over my sis's canon ixus i5 with just digital.

if you buy a camera with digital zoom you're really buying a camera with no zoom. why not just get a disposable and scan them in? :p

ah now a dosposable camera isnt gonna have different flash settings, shutter speed etc. for nights out and 130 euro please show me a camera that will take better pictures or have as many features as this. my main point is for the uses intended for this camera(well in my mind), optical zoom is a rarely used feature(its basically the difference of a few steps in all fairness).if zoom is such an issue, why buy a p & s? P&S means point and shoot, its for those quick snaps, not that sailing boat accross the bay.

It's a 130pounds excluding delivery. Would be about 200euro delivered, before a mem card.

You can get plenty of good cameras with optical zoom for that price.
I'm not saying it's not a good camera or anything of the sort, but it isn't a give-away. :D

also it was released in Sept. 2004 and we all know technology prices do fall

my casio exilim ex-s600 with a 1 gig card delivered cost bang on €300.

plus youve got mpeg-4 video, which is crystal clear compared to the average crappy 30sec video you get with most camera's. ideal P&S camcorder aswell imo.

i just bought this little baby for €200 including delivery from pixmania, its 5MP, 3xOptical zoom. looks like a nice little piece of kit along the same lines as a canon ixus 50 for about €50 or so cheaper
