You may need to run the Adobe Reader Installer first and then you will be able to use Adobe Reader.

Sum1 out there i need help with these science experiments! For the pea and acid and base experiment what are the controls and variables! Help me asap!:confused::confused::confused::confused:

    Acid and Base.

Your Control would be something with a Neutral PH(water). And a test with a known acid base indicator.

Variables, would be the length of boiling time, ammount of plant pigment, ammount of indicator added to acid/base etc...

I don't know much about the pea one but i think it would be

    Pea

Your control would be a pea not soaked.

Variables, ammount of time pea was soaked, length of time in soil, etc...

for the pea experiment i dont think that u need to put them in soil, just soak them, thats the variable i used. The control would be the unsoaked peas, as far as I know, well its what i put down anyway!1 After the break jus get ur teach 2 check it, i think thats ur best shot!! :)

Do NOT use a photocopied version for the experiments. Your school will have been sent official booklets to use for the writeups. Your teacher should have provided photocopies to you to practice writing them up, but there are official booklets available.

I absolutely agree Chief Executive. By the way cool name. I am doing the old 1989 syallabus and it is a whole lot easier. The reason that the new syallabus was introduced was a. to counteract the decreasing number of people doing science subjects for the leaving certificate and b. to make the subject more interesting and practical to learn with the so called ' hands on' 'DIY' approach. Its rediculous only 30% of schools in a latest survey had actual refurbished labs that would be able to accomadate the new syallabus. Some schools dont even have labs. In my opinion this whole objective of the new science cirriculum is not going to encourage more people to do science for the lc but quite the opposite. Its putting a lot more pressure on students because of the the stupid laboratory book you have to write up and the actual project where you have to do things like seed germination etc. . Fair enough that you get a good percentage of the marks of the exam for doing these things but i think its a lot easier just to learn the textbook and just do a written exam.

ya new science syllabus is sooooo hard, too hard. If they are tryin to convince ppl 2 do science 4 da lc, they are DEFINATLY going the rong way bout it!! no1 understands how much I HATE science, its the only class that i really dread the thought of goin in2.

My project is soo bad, its unreal. As 4 the exam, it focuses in one one particular line of one particular topic. Its so specific that u have 2 no the course inside out, its way harder than the 1989 syllabus. Its my only real worry 4 da jc. Please HELP ME!!!!

Basically disney the actual exam paper itself is actually easier than the 1989 syallabus this is because only a brief answer is needed to obtain the marks and you are supplied with spaces to write your answers into its just the extra things like project etc. is causing the hassle

it may be easier, but ALL questions must be done, and say a question came up that you never did, or have forgotten you can skip it like the 1989 syallabus. But they won't be too hard on us this year as it's the first year. but i bet next years crowd will be cruicified for marks as they were too easy on us this year
