iPod Shuffle Questions

    Hi all...

I'm thinking of getting an iPod shuffle just so I'll have something to listen to while jogging. I don't want whistles and bells, just something basic.

Anyhow, I've a chance of getting one in the US, where the 1Gb is $99 ( approx. €80 ) which saves me approx. €30. I just want to make sure that there's no problems using a US iPod Shuffle here in Ireland. I can't imagine there would be as it charges off a USB port, but I just wanted to check. I can download the latest EU Version of iTunes, right? And that version will work with the US Shuffle, right?

I've also heard that the US Version isn't Volume Limited, but the EU version is. Is this true?

Finally, as I'll be jogging, and probably in the rain, what's the best way of keeping my Shuffle dry and on me? Apple have a plastic case that hangs around your neck ( which keeps it dry, but it will bounce around, probably annoying me! ) or a arm strap, which will stop it bouncing around, but not keep it dry! Any other options out there?

    Thanks!

    J.

yea US shuffle would work here with no problems.

As regards protecting it, have a look at www.iskin.com.

    Thanks for that...

I'll look into the iSkin stuff, though I'm a bit cautious that they're only good for keeping out 'moisture', and not really good for actual rain. It looks like the one thing most likely to stop rain is Apple's own hard plastic carrier, but I'll investigate some more.

By the way, iSkin have a special, if you buy the cover for the Shuffle you can buy the Cerulean XLR headphones for half price ( $15 ). Any idea if they're any good?

Actually, to answer one of my own questions, the earphones that come with the Shuffle have a better frequency response than iSkin's ones!

I have an iskin for my nano. Have to say it is very good. Wouldn't say it's 100% water proof. But if something spilled on it like a pint, it would def keep it safe. Would protect it from falls too. Very happy with my buy. Didn't buy the earphones.
