Can anyone else hear what sound like helicoptors?! I am in Howth and they are so loud. I went outside and saw nothing in the sky, only a flashing red light near the airport. Anyone know what's the dealio? I can't hear them right now

Here's hoping. Humanity bores me of late.

It seems to have gone now. The only reason I was wondering was because it was soooo loud. Like I'd understand if the helicoptors or whatever were above my house but they were a good few miles away and I could hear them very very well from inside the house. I just thought it was strange.

    Hi,

Would have thought a flyover practice for the easter parade at the weekend - but no chance of that at this time of night. So in other words - no idea. Re the xfiles bit - If your watch does stop for any strange reason though let us know.

Perhaps just a very disillusioned helicoptor driver, lol. I still can't get over the noise though. I'm surprised people could sleep thru it. Anyways it's done now and all I can do now is wonder

    Aliens, obviously.

I remember once seeing a Garda helicopter over Tallaght a mile or two from me, the spotlight was on pointing straight down, very visible. From the appearance, you know that there was someone in the beam, arms outstretched, looking skywards calling "Take me!!! Take me!!!"

If you move to the police area that has the highest arrest rate in the country what do you expect.

That noise of helicopters was ONE helicopter, the coastgaurd Sea King. It flew over my house last night, its HUGE. If it went over Howth I'd imagine it was a rescue or something :(

Yeah, that'll learn 'em. Bloody heliocobopters thinking they can wreck out sleep just coz they're "saving people". How dare they. :D If you do wannt throw things at them, I recommend Bord na Mona Firelogs.
