Starting ring games, Quick question

    Hello All,

I've been playing SitnGo's for aaaaaages now and the ups and downs are starting to annoy me!! It's nice money when you win, but I'd love something a little more stable, so I'm going to have a crack at the cash games on Stars. I've built my BR up to about $1000, so am thinking about sitting down at the .25/.50 to start with.

I've seen some boardsters say that they left PAHUD/PT on during the day to gather information on players to build statistics. How exactly to you do this, as the information gathered seems pretty useful to say the least.

Ive set PAHUD to read off the Hand History Window instead of the HH files, but does the information that it gathers actually get stored somewhere? Does it in turn go back into PT?

    Thanks

You can't "datamine" Stars unfortunately. :(

Datamine, right! Thanks, good terminology :D

    Is it frowned upon, Datamining?

If you think the ups and downs are bad in stt's i can't see you liking them in cash ;)

tbh I think it's more the fact that my recent 'down' has been about 40/50 times out of the money!

in a cash game I play a lot tighter with the same aggresiveness when I do enter a pot, it's helping my tilt ease!

Some sites don't allow it, it used to be possible to datamine Stars with an add-on programme, but Stars have told them it's not allowed, and so they took the programme off the market. :(

Wait for a while and you'll be playing STT's to help when you really Tilt, STT tilt is nothing compared to a Cash Game tilt... :p

yeah I can well imagine. buying in with the Max and then tilting could be dangerous. especially if you go reloading. I hope I can continue to pull out when I recognize I'm on tilt.

I think the cash games might put a bit of manners back on my STT's also. I suppose it's nice to have a break from the norm every now and again.

Thing is, normally losing your whole stack will usually be what starts the Tilt, so take that point as the beginning and then think of what you might do..

This is where Poker discipline really comes into play.

Cash play should really help to improve your post flop play for STT's and MTT's. Best of luck with the change, (or should I say I hope Variance is in your favour :) )
