You won't get any compensation - no one ever does. If you check more closely you'll probably find that 2 days is the best case delivery for that shipping service.

    you definelately won't get compensation.

and also the worst is yet to come, at the moment parcelforce has your parcel which is grand wait until it gets into ireland when it changes hands to Generally Lacking Service.

also i'd doubt they'd be working tomorrow as delivery men like to take their holidays very seriously.

it's generally 48hours is the quickest possible time for delivery i'd give it 3-5 days, especially for galway as i'd imagine it would come in through dublin airport and they be lorried down to galway depot.

ahh yeh good old GLS dropped my 2000 euro laptop in with my neighbour despite the outside of the box asking the courier to ask for identification of the signer.

lucky i have some good neighbours but the mind still boggles

My package from Dabs first went to Parcelforce Preston depo. It now says 'Delivery Agent - NETHERLANDS'. Is it normal for Parcelforce to send packages from the UK to Ireland via the Netherlands or is someone in the Netherlands about to have a DVD recorder delivered to them?
