Need a hand testing a couple of things...

If you have two seconds to help me test a couple of things perhaps you could:

Click this link to listen to a stream of Andy Black and Mike Matusow. I just need to know if it pops up in Winamp or Real player or something similar.

This is the manner by which we want to stream out audio reports during the Irish Open so I'm interested in both positive and negative tests... did it work at all for you? how was the quality? what connection do you have?

Secondly if you can have a look at www.antesup.com/index84.php ... while this page is still unfinished (I have yet to upload the Joe Hachem video for example), its structurally complete and I want to test that the navigation works (even if it takes a second to format itself!) and the news scroller too.

    Thanks for the help lads!

    DeV.

Works in iTunes but quality is poor. Page is fine and scrolling news works.

For the first one I am on firefox so it is asking me what program i want to use(winamp by default) Quality of the audio is poor but the speed it loads is fine(2mb ntl line)

On the second one yea the navigation is fine but on a personal note i dont like the way you have to keep the mouse over the newsbar for the scroll to stop, why not just use a normal scrollbar ? (Although i do design websites so I am probaly being picky)

you mean the quality of the recording? or the quality of the streaming?

I know the recording itself is a bit low quality as it was compressed to 98bit (I think) but I'm hoping your iRiver will change all that Big D! :)

I know what you mean. I personally find scroll bars the ugliest things on the web. Besides, then you have to hold the mouse button down to *move* it as opposed to moving the mouse to *stop* it :)
Seems 50/50 to me. Thanks for the feedback, I was hoping someone with FF would try it, good to hear it works ok as I hadnt time to tweak it for FF yet.

popped up in real player no problem.

    page:

links in the footer have question marks after them. The copyright symbol and the two dots down't show up on my screen. They might be ok on yours but you're better off using html code (
    ©

) etc rather than symbols. And the privacy policy/terms of use links are hard to read (they appear dark blue on my screen)

The menu at the top is much clearer! n1. and the scrolling news is great.

ps: navigation is fine. Will there be a link to the tournaments page?

The first one is fine. It comes in on musicmatch jukebox and its grand.

The second link is fine too the scroller and navigation is fine.

No problems with either. The mp3 loads up in Realplayer after a standard Firefox prompt to "open or save". Streaming quality is fine: Eircom Broadband connection. Audio quality is ok except for a lot of background hiss.

Navigation is fine with the Antesup page. Dont mind the different scrolling method at all.

When I click the link I get a pop up saying "Save or Cancel", then I have to save it and right click it and choose which programme to open it with, but when I choose iTunes it plays fine, although alot of hassle. But probably just my computer set-up. :o

    Other link works fine.

    Winamp.

    Streams no bother

Quality of sound is ok. It does the job, not sure if there would be a hell of a lot you could do with regards to getting a better recording for your live reports

Ok, the new page just went live, it has all the audio bits ready to go (but no audio yet as we are waiting for Big D and his funky iRiver). I've set up a webcam here to periodically take a snap of the room (is that lazy or what, we dont even have to take pictures now :) )

Anyway, thanks for all the testing guys, its always nice to know what you are about to put live isnt working only for you!

ps: to the web devs out there: I once put a site live that looked perfect on my machine only to get complaints from the client. I checked the site, looked perfect, client said he couldnt see any of the images, I checked again... perfect... hard refreshed, still perfect. Turned out I'd linked all the images to file://c:...... so I was the only person on earth for whom the site looked ok!

Works fine on a Mac as well Tom. (In case anyone cares). Launches iTunes and streams nicely. Browser is Apple's Safari.
