I watched that episode of High Stakes Poker, and remember a lot more build-up to Farha's decision to re-raise all-in to Greenstein's 50k re-raise. The clip doesn't do the moment justice.

edit: I missed the edit showing the full hand video. that's better to watch!

The 13 episodes are a lot better than most of the poker on Tv. Helmuth was hilarious, he really should stick to tournaments, one pot he bet 1k into a 20k pot as a bluff against Negreanu!

I guess A's dont hold up for high stakes either.

Greenstein is as stoic and dignified in defeat as any player I have ever seen, even declining to run the hand twice again after they see the king flop. a true star

I think the boards etiquette is to say "from my cousin in America".

PM me if you want instructions on how to get this show. I enjoyed this show more than any other poker show bar the world series.

They're playing 300 600 blinds no limit with between $50k and 1 million in front of them. I was just talking to Todd Brunson on the the tribeca network and he says he usually plays at much larger stakes than this!! You can harass him too - his nick is 'toddbrunson' ;) They've already recorded series 2 (Todd loses).

He did take the defeat very well but he didn't know that Farha had KK untill after the river.
In the next episode you can briefly hear a player mention that Farha didn't show the KK till the end.

13 eps. Last ep was shown on Tuesday,

Was a great display of how to take a defeat. Farha did rub it in a bit once the K landed though, was really calling at the scren for an A on river to see his face drop.

I wonder even though he said he had it, was he trying to get him into the, deal the board twice, side bet too??

No more talk of cousins/uncles/downloading plz.

He says he has kings before the board is dealt. What else can he have anyway, unless he is putting on a huge act before pushing with aces?

What is the ante structure in this game? Just 300-600? Shouldn't Farha be folding kings here with 200k behind? Obviously I didn't see the show, so maybe there is some more history to it, but I expect most winning 2-4 and 5-10 players online to get away from KK with 300BB+.

Whats the story with Farha string bet when he first re-raises Greenstein? There was talk on here before about the amount of chips he has in his hand before it crosses the line or announcing the raise before he moves his chips in but Sammy does neither of these. What makes this one legal?

Yeah, he did but sammy says alot, but yeah, it does look like he has kings.

    There was a $100 ante.
Barry raised to 2.5k, farha reraised to 12.5k then barry raised 50k more leaving him with about 130k.

i agree totally but what do you mean run the hand twice??

Theres so much money at stake they split the pot in two and run the cards twice, mainly done in omaha where one player could have a made hand with the other having a massive draw - the turn and river would be run twice.

Can anyone work out why Sean Sheaky was freaking at Farha after that hand?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,299 ✭✭✭✭MadsL

Probably cus they hate each other. Lots of gripeing from Shaky early about Sammy doing the counting chips, thinking hard, talking, and then folding. Shaky can be a real dick too...

    Anyone hear what he said?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,434 ✭✭✭cardshark202

Sheikan was acting the complete díck the whole time. And Farha turned over KK before the flop was dealt so Barry knew what he was up against. Also, the unedited version shows Sammy paining for ages about what to do, he was close to folding KK, then he decided to push.

I think sheiky was upset by Sammy's you gotta gamble to win it boys and girls comment....
I thought I heard sheik follow it up with "thats rude" just as sammy is counting his chips.

When Farha finally called, I thought Greenstein turned over his AA and asked Farha if he had QQ, to which Farha replied "Kings". But he didn't turn over his cards until the river card was dealt.

Was Sheikan that w****r from last years WSOP big one? Real obnoxious guy?

Funniest moment (barring anything involving hellmuth of course) was that restaurant owner amateur donating $200000 to johnny chan, all in pre flop with AJ against Chan's AA.

Best poker show ive seen by far. Commentary is also better than any of the other shows.
