Bud Rising - the weekend's gigs

Even though its a dissapointing enough lineup, is anyone taking in much of the Bud Rising gigs?

Its a shame about the clash with Shout Out Louds and James Lavelle tonight (Lavelle playing on holy thursday when the venue has to be cleared out and closed by 12 makes no sense - still, a free gig is a free gig so beggars can't be choosers).

Even though hes not part of the BR thing, the Morrissey gigs are definately the highlight of the weekend.

Isobel Campbell has just been here so its strange she'd come back so soon.

Other than that, there seems to be a couple of mildly interesting acts (We are Scientists, Razorlight) but nothing much to write home about.

Got tickets to Giant Drag, which Im looking forward to. Moved from a late show on the Monday, to an evening show on the Sunday.

Half tempted to go to the 4 hour Mr. Scruff set on Monday still though and I reckon I'll pop into see James Lavelle tonight too

Yea i'm going to see We Are Scientists who seemingly played a great show at the NME thing in the ambassador a while back. The Longcut should be interesting too

what are Lavelle's live shows like? I caught him on the Ian Brown tour a couple of years back but I've never seen him or UNKLE on their own.

More to the point, whats an early evening Lavelle show going to be like?

Yea shout out louds were great last night. Sound was very poor. Pity about the S**T crowd. Mainline were excellent and Morning after Girls were possibly the most average 'meh' band around. Shout out louds stayed around to sign stuff too afterwards.

We are scientists should be great. I'm missing Giant Drag. boo hoo. They are playing a festival here so will see them eventually(according to their website).

Yeah I hear they're gonna be playing Oxegen.

Tried to get into Lavelle last night. My fault for leaving it till 10:15!! Dam queue was down to Cafe Bar Deli and 3 deep. With 1 hour and 45 minutes left to drink, I wasnt going to spend the majority of it standing outside! But it sounded class!

To be honest, Ive seen all sorts of times listed. Crawdaddy website says 12, Ticketmaster say midnight (which is wrong, cos Keri Chandler starts at 11.30), but the Budrising and entertainment.ie websites say doors at 7.30, show at 8!!

    Budrising

The last website to update the changes was the Budrising website, so I reckon thats the correct listing. Might not be such a bad idea to call Crawdaddy and see what they say.
