Can't download from Market Place since NTL upgraded.

    Got the free 3Meg to 6Meg upgrade from NTL last week but can't get anything from market place since. It connects for 3 or 4 minutes then the modem loses it's connectivity completely and needs a reboot (can't even surf on other machines so it's not just a dodgy connection to Live servers, plus playing on live doesn't cause any problems). Anyway, if there are any other NTL users out there could you please reply and let me know if you've been having problems or not, also have you recieved the upgrade yet? Was onto NTL last week and all their diagnostic tools were down, but surprise surprise they are itching to pass this off as Lives problem which of course they do not support. So please if you're a NTL user reply, i want to gather as much info as i can before i ring them back.

    I noticed that I am getting extremely slow rates from marketplace since the upgrade. Don't know why though!!!!

    i requested the ntl upgrade but so far i have not been upped to the 6meg line as of yet. however, my speeds lately have been extremely erratic & I was constantly losing my connection when downloading demo's from xbox live

    I would imagine as they are rolling out this upgrade most NTL's customers can expect some performance issues - its the nature of the beast i guese, im not saying that its acceptable of course!

    still, it could be worse - we could be on Irish Broadband which is the worst service I have ever had in any tertiary product I have ever subscribed to :rolleyes:

    I hear you, I haven't been worried about performance (which has been very up and down over the last month) as i've lived through a NTL upgrade before. This is definetly a different issue though, i mean i lose connection when using bittorrent but it does come back on it's own, Market Place needs a hard reset everytime within minutes of starting a download.

    i havnt been getting much from the amped 3 demo and I left it running for two hours yesterday. very strange.

    Just rang NTL again the guy this time wouldn't listen to a word, "we do not support Xbox" was about all i could get out of him. Wonder if it's worth getting downgraded, or just leave them all together and be done with it.

    in fairness i've been on NTL a good while now and its the best internet service i've ever had (streets ahead of Eircom and IBB)

    so at the moment they are rolling out an upgrade so there are a few hiccups and to be honest aswell they're customer support is well below par, seems no one in their offices have a breeze of whats goin on and their responses to customer queries regarding the upgrade are very inconsistent

    still tho, as an ISP i dont think theres anyone better, just give it a while!

    i think my line has started to stabalise in the last few days aswell - and other people in that thread from above seem to be getting on better...just ride the storm!!!

    mine is all over the place, its taking me AAGGGGESS to download film trailers which are only around 20mb which would be down in well short of a minute using a pc. really annoying!

    If they came to give you a new modem does that mean you will be upgraded because we were told months ago it would get upgraded and still nothin.

    Nope This is a known Problem with NTL, UK experiencing it too! So would advise all NTL XBL users to bug the Sh*te out of their customer support lines until we get answers! Forums below show the issues experienced in the UK.

    its weird though. its only happened in the past few days. I hope it returns to normal quickly. I got demos i need to download and its taking hours just to get around 10%

    im on clearwire 2mb wireless broadband. and i cant download anything on the marketplace. i cant even download updates for games, no doa4 for the forseable future. anyone else with clearwire have a problem?

    Having problems too, and I'm on Eircom, can't download from the Marketplace either, keep getting dropped connection errors.

    I eventually got NTL to give me a new modem (the 250 model), and everything is fine again now (still quite slow though). They really weren't keen on giving me a newer model as all their tools were showing my modem as working perfectly. My original modem was the 120 and needed a firmware update to support the new speeds, so i figure they have a problem with thier firmware or i just had a dodgy one combined with some very coincidental timing. Anyway, if anyone has one of the old modem models and looses the ability to download from marketplace after upgrading this could be your solution, but you'lll need to push the issue yourself as NTL will not accept there is a problem.

    mine is screwed aswell, NTL
    i can only assume this is microsofts problem but they dont care enough to fix it.

    I can't download anything on Marketplace!!! I am on Eircom Broadband so it looks like its Microsofts problem. Hope they fix it soon!!!!

    Problems from me too, can't download anything off marketplace, drops the connection after about 20 seconds

    I'm on eircom, no other problems with live

    i had been having problem for the last two weeks aswell, but as of today all seems to be well again, yay! :)
