As today is the last day of Lent, who managed to stick to their guns and remain off whatever they gave up?

Didn't bother giving up anything myself.

    I gave up robot dancing.

I hope my skills aren't too rusty now as I'll be taking part in the big robot dancing tournament next week.

Succesfully managed to run the course. Gave up breakfast rolls (well, all that fried stuff generally, but it normally came in the guise of a breakfast roll) and chinese chipper food, and I havent touched it since. Funny, I have no urge to ever eat it again either. Result!

So did until a collegue put me in my palce, apparently the Triduum (three days before Easter) is not counted as part of lent as it is supposed to be a time of mourning, no mass celebrated etc...,

I didn't give up anything for lent on the grounds that I already gave up smoking this year, so I feel I've done enough.

A group of girls I work with all gave up chocoate together but they wisely decided not to ask me to join them.

Decided to give up coffee. I broke the fast 4 times or so. BTW, is today really the last day of Lent?

Seeing as how I gave up giving up things for Lent, I think I did pretty well :)

    I'm a buddhist so I didn't give anything up...

Gave up sugar (sweets, soft drinks, sugar in my tea etc) and only caved twice while drunk. Really, I couldn't help myself! Honest!

I'm an atheist but take the opportunity to be a little bit more healthy. Follow Ramadan as well, well kinda.

<mounts high horse> hmm, seeing as the whole sermon on ash wednesday was about 'giving without counting the cost' and about the hypocrites who put on a frown when they are fasting, and Jesus tells us to wax our heads and not let anyone know we are fasting i think this thread is a little bit ironic. You know the whole 'you're left hand shouldn't know what your right hand is doing'. <gets off high horse>

Anyway I failed my lenten thingy, miserably, so well done to all those who passed...

But I thought that bloke only got nailed to the tree on friday though, so who are you supposed to be mourning now then?

I think Bluetonic is the devil trying to trick you all into ending your fast early and thus claim your soul.

    Lent is 40 days, people!

Actually there is no Mass on Good Friday, I'd never thought of that.

Anyway, I'll be holding off all chocolate till Sunday. I'm pretty happy with myself that I didn't snap once, even when I was really stressed and would've loved a hot chocolate!

I'm still keeping my new years resolutions (no sweets, biscuits, crisps, cakes, or chocolate - not easy being a chocoholica and all) so lent was a piece of cake,

    mmmmmmmm cake

    brb...

    Lent is 40 days, people!

But we're actually on the 43rd day since Lent began (including Ash Wednesday) due to the whole 'penance on a Sunday'.

    WIKI
Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, occurs forty days before Easter, not counting Sundays.
Spy Wednesday is an old name given to the Wednesday immediately preceding Easter, in allusion to the betrayal of Jesus by Judas Iscariot. It is the last day of Lent, because the Triduum and Sundays are not counted as days of Lent.

Hmm, confusing. Well, I'm gonna hold off 'til Sunday anyway.

I gave up fizzy drinks, and I only broke it once

I don't drink alcohol so it is harder not to drink fizzy drinks :(
