    Hello,

Lotta stuff goin' down @ POGO this Saturday.

In the POGO Club we've got.....

Jussi Pekka (Frozen North Recordings, FINLAND)

The Liptrick (20/20 Vision , UK)
    + POGO resident Barry Redsettaz

POGO has been looking forward to Jussi Pekka's arrival for a while now. JP manages the crossover between house and techno like only a very few others do, with a subliminal sureness to receive support from a crossfire of DJs from different electronic niches, including the likes of Hawtin, Bug, Villalobos, Garnier, James Holden, Electric Indigo and Timo Maas.
So far he can look back on an impressive release catalogue including productions for highly respected labels such as Poker Flat ( “Dancing Queen”), Morris/Audio (“Work it”), Slip´n´Slide, Audiomatique (“Let it go”), Out of Orbit (“Stereo interleaved”), Dessous, Latenightessentials, Vuo, Statra, Worldless (“The Snake”), and not to forget his very own imprint Frozen North Recordings, which he has kickstarted in 2005.

Leeds based duo The LipTrick having been making waves on Ralph Lawson's 20/20 Vision label and were tipped in DJ Mag's Dec. 05 issue as 'ones to watch' for 2006. Their style is a hybrid of smooth crisp melodic digital disco and dirty dark electro. Deadly!

    In POGO Live we've got.....

    Psychotic Reaction presents:
    The Long Blondes (Irish Debut)

The Long Blondes came together through a series of chance encounters. Kate (lips), Dorian (licks), Reenie (hips), Screech (sticks) and Emma (high kicks) bumped into each other at public library counters, charity shop sale rails and the dancefloors of DIY club nights. It was deliciously inevitable that this lot would get together and form a band. The Long Blondes are the part of the next chapter of Sheffield’s idiosyncratic musical heritage: the suburban disco fantasies of the Human League, the opulent ridiculousness of ABC, the seedy glamour of Pulp.Aswell as all that, they scooped the 'new talent' prize at the NME Awards 2006.

Support on the night comes from Stagger Lee and a DJ set from The Things.

And finally in the POGO pub......
Holdin' it down for the masses will be Monkey Tennis DJ's and POGO's own Nic James.

    Sin e!

    Cheers,

    Genie.
