my final grandslam hand (long post)

Last night was the 4th episode of the PPP GrandSlam, and I got knocked out in 10th. With the structure paying the top 3 players, and top team, and with my team all being gone, I had no team worries, so could go for it.

This is the hand I made my move with, just wondering how more tournament players would have played it different, as several plays went through my head.

    Previous---- blinds are 10k/20k
Me, had been doing well, but after getting caught stealing, I probably dipped below average from 400k down to around 300k

Mark Williams, is on my right, he is a rock, and resonably short stacked (around 200k) He gives away alot by his calls/raises, I feel i can outplay him and have a good read on him.

Rory Mathews, is on my left, this guys supposedly won $1million in a year. He knows how to play, and isnt afraid to get agressive, infact hes reraised my last few button steal attempts. Rory has around 600k.

Its playing 6 handed. And rory is on the button.

Folded to mark williams who makes it 60k.
This immedately makes me think he has KQ. If a face PP he pushes, lower PP he calls, only hands he'll make this raise with is KQ, two face cards probably without an Ace.

I look down to see AJo. I think if i raise, it will put him all in, unless its a min raise so any raise really has to be a push, and it gets round to williams he will fold 70% of the time. Knowing how passive he has seemed, and I had folded to rory's reraise, I thought he might have another pop at reraising us both.
If he does do this, I expect williams to fold, and I am thinking he could have any 2 and i call/all in.
    Rory just calls the raise.
Folds to the BB who is the Swede Lars. Hes not afraid to get his chips in, espically when he thinks theres weakness or hes ahead at all. He pushed on a flush draw with middle pair earlier and won. He has won most of his all ins, most of which were 50/50s, but he does seem a good player.
He pushes for 600k or so, covers me anyway.

Straight away I think. Middle PP. He knows williams and I have folded alot. Probably puts williams on the same as me. I just called so I cant be that strong, and rory called for value thinking he can probably outplay williams and myself. So Lars will expect us all to fold, and if he gets a called he has a ok hand. Good move.

If my read is correct. Lars (77/88/99), Williams (KQetc.), rory probably a low PP(33/44 ish, maybe low suited connectors).
I do need to double through. I add up the pot, my 300k or so, with lars double through plus the two 60k bets. Is over 720k ( i actually think it worked out more at the time I think on TV it was closer to a 780k pot)

Im wondering if williams has one of my outs. I am expecting him to fold and he does.

I decided to make a stand, I wanted a double through, I had what I thought was a 50/50 shot, to turn my 300k into ~750k. This would put me in the top 2 in chips. With 10 players left. I'd be in great shape.

I call, Rory folds as expected (seen it on TV last night was 8Ts).
Lars turns over 99, pretty much what i expected. I ask mark williams what he folded to see if he had any of my outs. He had QJ. I was pleased with my reads and I guess got what i expected. There was outside chances Lars was just at it, or he could have had me dominated too.

No help and I'm out in 10th.

Just wondering would you push against williams, when you just expect to pick up his 60k and 30k from blinds (Obviously afterwards I thought I'd have been better doing this). Again I dont know if lars would call my all in, but probably not.

Sorry for the long post and all chip stacks are roughly right.

I would have push after Williams, you seem to be very passive and I think you would have got respect for this, I think Rory would have fold, Lars might have called and Williams would have fold, so by flat calling you got Rorys money into the pot, but if you had push, there is a 30% chance that Lars would have fold, or if you had raised Williams (which would have been hard shortstack), Lars might have flat called and you could have taken it after the flop with a bet,

But this is not a game of "IF".lol
