Anyone know good bodywork man in cork for a 34 year old DS19?:)
Excellent choice Pablo - any pics? I'm very interested in your car - where did you buy it? Have you much experience of the DS? You do know there's no such thing as a 1972 DS19 - it should be a DS20, 21 or 23. :)

I intend organising a technical weekend on the DS in Waterford this year (probably mid July/august) it would be a good introduction to all that's right and possibly what might be wrong with your car. Are you going to the All Ireland Citroen rally on the first of July in Carlingford? PM me your email address and I'll include you in my Irish DS email list for these events and others.

Here's some pics of mine: http://www.cliftonds.com/citroen - there's pics of the tech weekend in 04 there too. The 05 one is http://www.cliftonds.com/citroen/itw05

To answer your question - any good bodywork man should be fine with a DS. You can remove every panel and bring them to him one at a time, which might help lower the cost. On the other hand, most would prefer the car whole for matching colours from one panel to the next. Most DSs have very little trim, so masking is quite straightforward. Pallas cars generally need most work on doors and wings because the running strip was drilled onto the panel.

If the panels are not rusty or dented, I would give it a go with some good polishes and a random-orbit polishing wheel first - it's amazing what you can achieve. Use stainless steel polish on the bumpers and hubcaps.

Enjoy your DS - most other cars feel normal and dull by comparison!
