No I couldnt be a normal person who bites their nails - I had to go one step further and bite my bloody cuticles when i get nervous/worried instead.

They get un-even and sharp and it gets annoying so I try and smooth them out, but it never works and it just gets me started, and I go untill I bleed.

Yes. Stopped for a while once, found long nails to be too annoying though., and could never remember to cut them until they annoyed me.

sometimes when food gets stuck in my teeth and its annoying me i bite off a bit of nail and use it as a makeshift toothpick. now that ingenuity. disgusting ingenuity

I used to. I stopped when I had braces. It hurt too much to bite my nails, and when the braces came off I never went back doing it.

I was biting my nails when I opened this thread and was biting them while reading it.

Mainly I bit my cuticles though. They bleed lots. But by now people are used to my thumbs constantly bleeding.

Used to, but stopped years ago. Use a nail clippers now and couldn't even bear the thought of biting my nails.

Yep, bite my nails all the time. Should stop though, as recently, one of the nails got caught between my teeth, and the gum grew over it. When it started to hurt a little while later, it hurt like helll trying to reef it back out with a tweezers. You'd think that would be a lesson learned, but no.....still biting them.

Used to do it when I was little. My dad had this friend who lost 3 fingers in a work accident,. He showed me his mangled hand and said that its what happens when you bite your nails. Ive never bitten them since! Im still traumatised I even feel sick when I see someone doing it!!

nope never had the habit. coulda been due to always having to have short nails when i was younger cos of my ezcema

Pighead doesn't bite his nails. Its an absolutely disgusting habit. I used to have a lot of respect for a lot of boards people but that respect has evaporated with almost every post i've read on this thread. Just when you think you know someone.:mad: Pighead will admit that occasionaly I will bite my grandads toenails for him but he doesn't have any teeth so thats cool.
