Whats a good tournament structure?

    Planning a game this week for like 25 people. We want it to go on for a fair while and have lots of play in it. It's going to be a re-buy tournament.

    What would be a good structure for a tourney like this? How long should the blinds be? What should starting stacks be?

    And what should chip denominations be? Fitz/merrion's 25/100/500/100?

    Does anyone have any other advice for running a tournament?

    hey dude.

    I'd start off the stack at 3-4k. Have 20 min blinds with a rebuy period up until the end of the 4th level....thats nearly an hour and a half of rebuys. Offer a top up or a double top up at break. Then freeze it up!!
    We run weekly rebuy tournaments for a few pubs around and thats the structure that works best(that we found and were told). Theres usually 25-30 at these events, so it starts at 9pm and runs till 2am(at the latest).

    Some might disagree with this structure and thats perfectly fine. We only go with what suits the players and of course the publican.

    Personally, I dislike playing in rebuys. I'd much rather pay my money up front and start off from a freezeout.
