...can a person be compelled to give evidence against his/her spouse in a criminal case or can he/she refuse outright, even where they have already made a statement?

Don't have a Fennell on Evidence lying around so any help would be appreciated.

AFAIK a spouse cannot be made give evidence against the other spouse.

yeah pretty sure you can't compell a spouse.

Fennell is one of the worst law books I've ever used.

    Thanks for that.

Haven't read too many books on evidence, so in no position to critique the work. But Caroline was thought provoking as a lecturer, and a real decent type outside the lecture theatre. All round good egg.
