G4 Powerbook vs. MacBook Pro

Buying a laptop in the next few weeks and I'm torn between the G4 Powerbook with 17 inch screen and the new MacBook Pro with a 15.4 inch screen.

Any experience with either? Please give me your opinions.

Price wise they're both the same when I soup up the Powerbook so it's just really which will be better for me. The MacBook Pro is faster but is there trouble running some programs because of the new Intel chip?

Anything that's not a Universal binary yet will be run through Rosetta on the MacBook Pro. This *will* slow things down a bit for non-Universal applications, but in general it's not a big deal because the MacBook Pro is much faster than the PowerBook G4. Either way, I'd go for the MacBook Pro.
