I think thats a terrible deal. You'd get the similar spec for half the price on the outlet store.

Would you get XP Media Center Edition with that???

    Or just use Mediaportal instead.

XP media centre is not so great in my opinion. I found it very buggy indeed.

    Mediaportal proved far more capable.

the advertisement for this machine in the metro/heraldAM says that the 5150 is "Dual core" .
the 9150 "high-performance" model advertised does not make any reference to it being Dual Core , Duo Core etc.

does anyone know if the processor in the 5150 is dual core .. their advertisements for their laptops seems to emphasize that they are "duo core".

update : just checked the link posted by spongebob

    "Intel® Pentium® D Processor 820 with DualCore Technology (2.80GHz,800MHz fsb,2x1MB cache) [Included in Price] "

The offers on the outlet store don't include monitors, vat or P&P.

The offers at the moment seem poor. The outlet at the moment, isn't that great. Was better a week or so ago. Give it another week and see what its like.

Me too. How long do these offers last? Seems you need to be very quick for some of them. What is the Dell support like?

Here's the link im using at the moment.
Just reduce the warrenty to 1year and its €607
With an extra 512 its €686.

    http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=ie&cs=ieepp1&fb=1&kc=NPIE5&l=en&oc=D04516a&x=10&y=14

As for the support judgeing by the sales staff it must be dire. But then again like any sales line it depends on who you get.

Rang up to see what the cost of addition of a good GFX card.

But when i asked about getting one equiped with a Gforce 6600 GT (140 on Komplett.ie as it doesn't come with a graphics card) told it could be incompatable with the system, told him the UK site and the US site sell the same system with it included, got oh yea but theirs a world shortage on these cards and a huge lead time because of this (doesn't seem to be a shortage on the net or in Dell Uk or US .Then tried to sell me a card for €500. Tried to blind me with techno babble said as the 6600 is a 256 card thats the speed of the card and its very fast.Should have asked how many miles I'd get to the gallon.

Said I'd call back. Rang again got another sales person and asked would next weeks deal be any better than their present offering (a 160GB drive and €100 off free printer) wouldn't coment other than "You Never Know".

Must think he works for psychics online they probably would have been able to tell me more.
So left with the decision to hang on another week to see if the deal improves???

Anyone know if the difference in price of the two following monitors is worth the extra?

Dell E196FP 19" Midnight Grey (TCO99) Flat Panel Monitor [Included in Price]

    Dell 19" UltraSharp™ Digital/Analogue High Quality Flat Panel for crystal clear images (1907FP) [add € 67.52 or € 29/month1]

    No

How are you getting €608? I clicked the link and changed the warranty to one year (reducing the price by €157 to €648).

An off the ball question, but would it be possible to fit a standard graphics card (256 or 512) into that at a future date?
