I really enjoy watching rugby (haven't played in a few years but thats a whole other thread ;) )and have been going to Landsdowne for alot of the Irish home games and try to catch as many Celtic League and Heineken Cup matches as I can (if I don't get to the game, I would always watch it on tv!) I know tickets can be hard to come by at the best of times but for the Leinster vs Munster it's just nuts!

Anyway, it really makes me angry to see this going on......

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/Heineken-Cup-Semi-Final-Ticket-Munster-V-Leinster_W0QQitemZ6621081207QQcategoryZ25611QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

......some "fan" selling his "spare ticket"

    Bol**x!

The only problem, its virtually impossible to prevent. Any ideas how to stop this from going on???

coz some people are more than willing to pay it...christ wonder how much he is looking for as it still hasn't reached it's reserve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,198 ✭✭✭✭Crash

I like how its at 242 euro and the reserve price still isnt met. Dirty ****er, thats just so wrong.

I would kill to go to this mate but there's no way in hell a scalper or tout are getting my cash for it - they can go **** themselves.

i could always sell you lunch* for 600 - 1200 euro and then give you a free ticket to the game....

i believe a few of the clubs are doing this

    * wet egg mayonaise sandwich with a can of dunnes cola

I swear if i knew who he was i'd give him a kick...Its a disgrace true fans cant even get near tickets and then you have people like him who try to rip people off...... There has to be a system put in place to stop this...

Son of a bitch €500 wtf.... a terrace ticket.... hope the b*stard chokes on it. Just got my email yesterday have been allocated 2 stand tickets by Leinster branch YES!! Would take a hell of a lot more then a grand to get these tickets out of my hand .... in fact i'm having trouble thinking of a price .... which would lead me to think that it's soooooo ridiculously high no one would be stupid enough to pay it !!!

This might be me being ignorant but that looks nothing like a rugby ticket, and even the date looks blurry but closer to Sept than April?

I am guessing it isent a real ticket...The reason being is it prob has the ticket number and can be traced back to the owner

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,048 ✭✭✭Amazotheamazing

You'd be pretty trusting to pay a tout for a ticket he has no proof he owns.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,658 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

+ with no sales before, hopefully dietoutdie will win :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,983 ✭✭✭✭Hermione*

OMG, it's €500! How can any fan justify doing that to another fan?! And who the hell is paying that much for a terrace ticket?! Aaagh, am so angry now ... I'd do a lot to go to this match, but there's no way I'm giving money to scum like him.

Well no it was at 300, but i got annoyed so put in a fake bid...Just to annoy him

    Genius ;)

We should have a fake bidding war, so not only will he think all his Christmasses have come at once, but he will also have to contact a load of bogus accounts when he realises that the top bidder won't pay.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,198 ✭✭✭✭Crash

So I see. Genius, Dan, I like it ;) And the a**hole deserves it anyway.

The words Rat and Smell spring to mind.

For a start, that doesn't look like a genuine ticket. And no Munster fan (real ones that is) of my acquaintance have received their tickets yet.

I suspect he was either messing himself or he got cold feet and realised that names like 'die tout die' probably indicate that the purchaser is not acting in good faith.

Acting perfectly correctly I might add.

String touts up by the nads.

I really wanted to win the bid :( i just didnt have the cash to keep up with yee munster folks dan, throwing cash around willie nillie :P

You could explain it like in the Simpsons - it's just German for "the tout, the"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,658 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

"No one who speaks German could be an evil man"

have to admit tho....if someone offered me 900 euro for a ticket i'd have to think twice about it

    every man has his price....:o

I can honestly say if someone came up to me with 1k for a terrace ticket i wouldnt sell it... If i had a spare i would sell it at cost price nothing else...
I will give you 900 for your ticket so ruggie

on the other hand i don't think there is enough money in the world that would make me sell it to a munster fan:p

still 900 euro would (almost) pay my rent for another month.... :D

i hope to get four tickets....i've had about 18 family and friends approach me for tickets (not including the pms and random texts from acquantices....). most are undeserving.

maybe i should give my two spares to charity and let them make money from them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,658 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

That's a really good idea actually.
