Problem with internet explorer

    hello all

    im having a problem with internet explorer, every time i log into it it cant get to the homepage and then when i try to exit out its says that the programme is not responding!! im using firefox at the moment but i cant seem to get onto certain websites, ive done a virus check with the lastest mcafee programme and have used Spybot S&S and Ad-aware and have found nothing wrong...........Does any1 know what the problem is???

    any help would be great

    Did you install any IE plugins recently ?

    You should try some of Microsofts methods for repairing IE.

    First I'd try running sfc (system file checker) and if that doesnt work re-install service pack 2.

    With regards to not being able to find the homepage, check that IE is not trying to use a proxy server (unless of course you're on some kind of corporate network or something where a proxy is required).
    Can you visit sites like google on IE?
    Even though ad-aware and spybot came up clean, you should run HijackThis and see if anything dodgy is hooked into IE.

    i have hijack this but im afraid to delete anything in case i might need it......what should i look out for? i can visit sites like google etc but then sometimes it just hangs by saying its not responding. the bb connection is ok aswell so i dont think thats at fault!!!
