    Lads,

I left my brand new coat in a taxi on friday night but I haven't a clue what taxi it was, I normally wouldn't mind but it was €110 only brought last weekend. Any idea if there is a central place where dublin taxi driver leave lost property? It is worth a try me thinks!

You could contact the Carraige Office. It used to be based in Harcout St but that was a fair few years ago. I thing Dublin City Council are now looking after this - you could possibly try them. Alternatively you could ring any Taxi company and ask them where lost property is handed in. As I'm sure you're aware, if the driver didn't see it and the next passenger was a dishonest type............. it's adios jacket. This happened to me a few years ago and my phone and wallet with IR£150 were in my jacket - an expensive error.

It was in Dublin Castle the last time I had to go there (a year ago).

It is in the carraige office alright and i would say you still have a fair chance as i know someone who left a laptop in a taxi and managed to get it back

Of course it all depends on whether the taxi driver decides to hand it in or not!

And that's a very big "if".

a little unfair, and perhaps premature? over the years I've dropped 2 mobiles and left one bag in a taxi. Bag was left in carraigeway office and one mobile was delivered next day back to my door by the taxi driver who then refused to take money I tried to give him for his honesty. Other mobile was dropped in back of car so assume next customer decided if was for them!
