    Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I am having with an XD card of mine. I recently bought a new camera and card however when I put the card into my card reader it gave some memory address error and now the card is in accessible. I cannot open the card or format it. Does anyone have any ideas - is the card ****ed?

    Dave

Can you take a photo of the blue screen ("memory address error")?
Does the card work OK in your camera?
Can you test the card in someone elses computer?

Re-install the software/driver for your card reader (Via your computer installation disc(s), or via Device Manager (Start->Run->devmgmt.msc).

Yeah, try formatting it when its in the camera and see if its working then.

Unfortunately I dont have a screenshot or anything of the error. Ive tried it in two machines and both to the same effect using two different card readers. When I put it in my camera it says card not initialized.

    Hey Guys,

I cant format it in the camera. When I go to format it under windows it says it cant write the MBR to the card. I think its coz of the ****ty card reader I have. I think I need to get a brand name card reader and get a low level format done on the card or does anyone know where I can get this done?

Are you sure you can't format it in the camera? Most digital cameras can do this. Does it let you and then give an error, or just not give that option at all?

No option at all. Its a Fuji Finepix F-10 so if anyone out there owns one and knows how to do it let me know but I cant find it anywhere.

    From the manual:

Press the “MENU/OK” button to display the menu on the LCD monitor.
Press uparrow or downarrow to select “SET” SET-UP.
    Press right Arrow
Scroll thru options till you find FORMAT. Then format the card.

Instructions with pics are on page 79.
