Is NTL Digital flopping or what is happening?

NTL seem to be bulking up the analogue service lately and
ignoring their digital service IMO. Decent channels previously
available on digital have appeared on analogue for some reason.

Living TV moves to analogue (good channel)
Paramount Comedy moves to analogue (good channel)
NBC moves from analogue to digital (crap channel)
No ITV2/3/4 available on digital (Free to air channels aren't they? WTF?)

No announcement made on what happens when Film Four goes
    free this summer.

It looks like NTL isn't trying too hard to push their digital service.
Are they giving up on it and conceding the market to Sky or what?

They are concentrating on fixing Chorus and getting Chorus Analog only folks onto Digital. Also areas that have no NTL Digital.

Once the really backward bits of Chorus / NTL ireland are fixed they will probabily rebrand and make a big push for Phone, Broadband and Digital, probabily offering PVR also (Hard Disk Drive recorder for Digital Cable only, a cable equivalent of Sky+).

NBC was moved to make way for C6. Living TV and Paramount are probably paying extra for position on analogue.

ITV2/3/4 aren't on Digital, because ITV won't license them to NTL, probably because TV3 is suing ITV about ITV showing shows that TV3 has the Irish rights for. I'm sure NTL would love to show these channels, it isn't really NTL's fault, and hopefully it will get sorted if ITV buys TV3.

I think NTL is trying to improve it's analogue service, in order to be able to better compete with Free To View sat. In the past too many of NTL's analogue channels were on FTV sat, by moving some of the more popular channels onto analogue, it makes analogue look like better value for money.

But NTL hasn't been neglecting Digital either, they have been adding channels to Digital also and like Watty said, once they rebrand NTL and Chorus, they are likely to push Digital/BB/Phone big time.

Unlikely to be a Rights problem as it is main UTV not the ITV repeat channels that TV3 has issue, and UTV is on Cbale since before TV3 existed. Rights are different for Cable.

TV3 has a problem with both UTV and ITV. I think ITV has also pulled the repeats channels just to be on the safe side. They have also pulled all ITV listings out of the Irish Newspapers etc.

Interestingly, NTL just popped a leaflet through my door which had
ITV3 listed as one of their digital channels. I assume this is a mistake
    though, yes?
