Mode four's are horrendous amps! TSL's are nice versatile amps but if you just want metal the DSL's are your man!

I'm not partial to either amp. My opinion would be that there are more appropriate amps available for any general style of music.

By any conventional definition, I think the TSL is actually a hybrid. If you really want "tubes" you should get an all-valve amp. There's a lot of silicon in the signal path of a JCM2000.

    tsl100 all tube

and to be honest i play a lot or satriani and vai tsl is great for a more lead gutarist kinda player, and the cleans are lovely

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. Lots of people dig the sound. But it really isn't "all valve" by the definition of what most people consider to be all-valve. The schematics are pretty easily available.

To be honest, I find the preoccupation with "valve" to be somewhat bizarre anyway. End result is all that matters imo.

The TSL100 is my weapon of choice. I love it, and until I'm rich enough to afford a MIDI controlled tube setup, my TSL isn't going anywhere.

I have heard that the DSL100 actually sounds a lot better though. But I haven't tested this personally so I don't know. I kind of just got the TSL assuming they sounded the same, just with an extra channel.
